Teach and apply Christian principles beginning at ground level and moving on to becoming solid disciples of Christ. Elevator is a valuable resource tool that will involve young people in a discipleship process toward spiritual maturity and Christian commitment. George Barna stated in a recent study of teenagers that: “Although four out of five say they are Christians, only one out of four also claims to be committed to the Christian faith. He also stated in this study that: “teenagers are a study of contradictions. One of those is their simultaneous desire to be portrayed as religious people while they invest little of themselves in spiritual pursuit.” This is why it is so important that the church provide teenagers with a systematic process of discipleship.
This discipleship curriculum will involve students in the study and pursuit of spiritual principles and basic doctrine of the Christian faith throughout their teen years. Elevator will take students through different levels of structured Biblical study toward the goal of being a true disciple of Jesus Christ. This material can be adapted to any group size and student level of Biblical knowledge.
